General

• Invoicing will be carried out when all work has been satisfactorily completed. Invoices must then be settled within 10 days. This does not relate to full web design projects, which conditions can be seen under Fees, listed below.
• Site Author will retain the copyright and intellectual property rights over all HTML, graphics and any other work linked with our services, transfer of these may be granted upon written request.
• Any copyright granted to a customer will only deem to have been transferred upon final payment of invoices.
• Site Author does not deal with the set up of domain names or servers on their own, only as part of a package, or with the inclusion of hosting (please see Hosting Terms and Conditions), this will however be invoiced separately and will be payable immediately. In exceptional circumstances the matter may be looked into, if this occurs then an additional charge will apply.
• Site Author requires the placing of the Authorship image, as seen at the bottom of this sites' pages, to be placed on all pages. This image includes a hotlink to our web site and is there for queries regarding a) your site and b) it is our 'signature'. This image, under special circumstances, may be removed, under negotiation with Site Author and must be approved in writing and incurs an extra charge of £250.00.

Design and Packages

• All quotations issued will be exclusive of the costs of any proprietary image to be used.
• Site Author cannot be held accountable for any position, placement or presence linked to search engines, as these are separate businesses of which Site Author has no control over.

Fees

• Site Author will invoice 25% of the design fee upon acceptance of the web design project, this is payable immediately and due to the nature of this work is non-refundable. The remainder of the fee (75%) will be invoiced after the work has been satisfactorily completed and agreed upon by both parties. This invoice will then require payment within 10 days.
• All Maintenance, Site Editing, Updating and Build-Your-Own fees are worked on a 15-minute basis (ie: 1-22 minutes will be charged as 15 minutes, 23-37 minutes will be charged as 30 minutes, 38-52 minutes will be charged as 45 minutes etc.) The minimum charge for any of the aforementioned services is 15 minutes.
• Domain name registering and hosting for a one year period will be dependent upon the package chosen, but start at £99.00 per annum.(See also Hosting Terms and Conditions)
• Any emergency work carried out on Saturdays (from noon onwards), Sundays, National/Bank Holidays or between 7.00pm and 7.00am will be charged at 1.75 (175%) times the quoted rate.

HTML

This stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and is the language that allows web sites to be created and published on the World Wide Web.

JavaScript

This is another language used on the web and is a scripting language as opposed to being an entirely self-contained language, and is used to make HTML pages more useful as well as decorative.

CGI Scripts

CGI stands for Common Gateway Interface and is the way in which browsers communicate with servers. The most well known CGI script is that of Matt Wright, the FormMail Script, this is the one that you fill in when sending the contents of an enquiry form as an e-mail.

Browser

A browser is the program you use to look at the World Wide Web, the most popular of these are, Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Opera.

Server

A server is the computer that 'holds' the web pages that are available on the web.
