This is another language used on the web and is a scripting language as opposed to being an entirely self-contained language, and is used to make HTML pages more useful as well as decorative.
CGI stands for Common Gateway Interface and is the way in which browsers communicate with servers. The most well known CGI script is that of Matt Wright, the FormMail Script, this is the one that you fill in when sending the contents of an enquiry form as an e-mail.
A browser is the program you use to look at the World Wide Web, the most popular of these are, Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Opera.
A server is the computer that 'holds' the web pages that are available on the web.
